Privacy Policy
Like Old Friends ("LOF," "The LOF Club," "we," "us") is a service of Gothic Walks LLC, a Georgia limited liability company based in Savannah, Georgia. We provide guest capture and return-visit messaging services on behalf of participating local venues ("Venues"). This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
When you sign up at a participating Venue (for example, by scanning a QR code on a table card), we may collect:
- Your mobile phone number
- Your name, if you choose to provide it
- Your email address, if you choose to provide it
- Whether you are a local resident or a visitor, and your ZIP code if you choose to provide it
- Whether this is your first visit to the Venue and, optionally, the name of the staff member who served you
- The date, time, and Venue of your sign-up or check-in, which may include an approximate location stamp used to confirm the check-in occurred at the Venue
We also collect standard technical information when you use our web pages, such as device type and browser, used for security and to make the pages work.
How we use your information
- To send you text messages (and emails, if you provided an email address) on behalf of the Venue where you signed up — such as welcome notes, return-visit invitations, event announcements, review requests, prize drawing notifications, and occasional recommendations from local businesses the Venue loves
- To administer prize drawings you have entered
- To confirm return visits and provide the Venue with aggregate reporting (for example, how many guests came back in a month)
- To operate, secure, and improve the service
Text messaging program and consent
Our messaging program is called The LOF Club. You will only receive messages if you opt in. The consent language presented at sign-up reads substantially as follows:
You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message. You will receive a single confirmation message, and no further messages will be sent to you for that Venue's program. Reply HELP for assistance, or contact us at hello@likeoldfriends.com.
How we share information
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties, except with service providers acting on our behalf solely to deliver the messages you consented to receive.
Beyond that, we share information only as follows:
- With the Venue where you signed up. Your sign-up information belongs to the relationship between you and that Venue. We do not give one Venue's list to another Venue.
- With service providers that help us operate — such as messaging platforms, hosting providers, and analytics — under obligations to protect your information and use it only to provide services to us.
- For legal reasons, if required by law or to protect rights, safety, and the integrity of the service.
- In a business transfer, if the service or Gothic Walks LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case this policy will continue to apply to your information.
We do not sell your personal information.
Data retention
We keep your information while you remain opted in to a Venue's program and for a reasonable period afterward for record-keeping and compliance (including records of your consent and opt-out). You may request deletion at any time as described below.
Your choices
- Opt out of texts: reply STOP to any message.
- Access, correct, or delete your information: email hello@likeoldfriends.com and we will respond promptly.
Children
The service is intended for adults. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect what you share with us.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.
